New Opened Japanese Restaurant near Shwe Pauk Kan Industrial Zone (15 JUNE, 2015)

 

The name of the shop is "Base K". This lunch box shop will be opening June 15th 2015, in Shwe Pauk Kan. The lunch boxes are prepared by the cooks from Japan. The Menu consists of such dishes as Pork Fried with Ginger, Barbecued Chicken, etc. You will taste variety of other dishes too, not only Japanese. There will be a new menu every day. One lunch box is kyats 3500/- only. We deliver to ShwePaukKan, Mingalardon, ShwePyithar, HlaingTharyar and ShweLinpan areas. Interested parties can place their orders now.

 

 

 

 

Full Moon Day of Kasone & Festival (8 MAY, 2014)

 

Full Moon Day of “Ka Sone” is the most sacred Day for Buddhism. Buddha gained both, the enlightenment and Nirvana onthis day. “Ka Sone” is the second month of Myanmar Year. Among the three seasons, it belongs to Summer. “Ka Sone” means “pouring water” in Pali Language. This month is the hottest time of the year. Ponds, creeks, streams and drains are dry. Flowers and trees almost die of the intense summer heat. So there is a custom of pouring water under the sacred Bodhi Trees in Pagoda or religious compounds to keep them fresh and alive. This ritual commemorates the date 2500 years ago when Buddha gained enlightenment while meditating under this tree. After the Second World War the Government commemorates as Buddha Day and gazetted holiday for people of Myanmar. All Buddhist celebrate “Ka Sone”  Water Pouringfestival on full moon day of Ka Sone all over Myanmar. Nowadays Buddhist in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam also celebrate Full Moon Day of Kasone.

 

 

Myanmar New Year Festival (11 April, 2011)

 

"Thingyan Festival", takes place about four to five days around mid-April. This festival is meant to celebrate the New Yearby washing away the sins and evils of previous year. People from all works of life, young and old can join in the fun. Most of the youngsters are actively preparing music and dances one month before the festival. Water throwing pandals are set up all over towns and villages. You can participate in these activities and enjoy throwing water at one another. The yellow flower known as Padauk is a symbol of this festival. Myanmar damsels wear these fragrant flowers on their heads lovingly.During the festival elderly people go to the monasteries and meditation centers for religious deeds. At the end offestivities, on New Year's Day, people donate money, food and various items to the monks and the needy. Young people do nail cutting and shampooing the elderly to gain merit.

This “Thingyan Festival” is similar to “Songkram Festival” in Thailand.

Myanmar Longgyi and Tha-mi (5 November, 2010) .
Myanmar longgyi and Tha-mi are casual dress of Myanmar. They are made up of silk or cotton etc. Myanmar men wear longgyi and women wear Tha-mi. Myanmar longgyi and Tha-mi can get with a two and half yards of clothes. Myanmar longgyi attractively decorate with different patterns and dye various colors. Myanmar Tha-mi also beautifully creates with the different artistic patterns, color, hand beaded, accessory pearls, beads or sequences, etc. Myanmar people love to wear Myanmar dresses traditional garments (Thai-mi or longgyi) although shirts, T-shirts, blouses, jackets, jerkins, cardigans, and the like may be worn as upper garments. Myanmar Cheik longgyi is popular dress all over the world. Myanmar ladies wear Cheik Tha-mi at Myanmar Wedding Ceremony, novitiation ceremonies and other causal events.
